Hello everyone,

As some of you may know, I have had a lot going on in my personal life as of late. A big move and a new job means that I am having more demands on my time than I had before. As a result, I have been a little less than active over recent months. In addition, I have a number of characters and command responsibilities in Obsidian Fleet that I have to balance with my writing time.

I have been thinking long and hard about this, and I think the proper course of action is to resign as Executive Officer of the Endeavour. I’m stretched a little thin right now, and need to downsize the number of characters I play and the number of command responsibilities I have in the fleet, so that I can do fewer things better instead of more things half-assed.

This had been something that I had been thinking about for a while, and not something I take lightly. The Endeavour holds a special place in my heart, as I was on board for over two years and three COs, and saw many people come and go and had a lot of fun on our missions. However, in spite of all the good times I had on the Endeavour, I think it would be best for me to resign and best for the Endeavour if I were to open up the XO spot to someone who can be more active.

Further, with the resignation of the former CO, I had wanted to stay on to assist Cmdr. Farragut with the transition. As his XO and his TGCO, I can say that Cmdr. Farragut has exceeded my expectations. The Endeavour is in good hands with him, and I feel confident that with an XO who is able to be more active and more hands on, he will bring the Endeavour to new heights, and I look forward to continuing our working relationship as his TGCO.

In-character, I think it would be best to simply have Eahar take a position at Starfleet Academy, a better place to raise a family than on a starship, and fade out. Who knows – perhaps I might be able to pop in sometime for a cameo. I will try to catch up and write Eahar out over the coming week or two, and give our good commander a chance to search for a replacement.

Grumpy cat, signing off

Brian, aka Cmdr. Eahar R’Soll.

Thank you for the words of support, Brian. It's been my pleasure to write with you on the Endeavour, and I appreciate you staying on as long as you have. You've given me and everyone on the Endeavour the opportunity to do succeed. Thank you for all your help and best wishes on your new Endeavours.
