|Personal History||In 2363, Jeffery and Amber Rigby had a daughter, Victoria Terri Rigby in a little area off of the West Coast of Ireland called Connemara. Due to unforeseen circumstances, not long after giving birth, Amber passed away due to unforeseen complications. Jeffery was left having to raise his daughter on his own, having lost the only woman he ever loved. Having no family Jeffery had to raise Victoria by himself. To help cope with the pain, he turned to alcohol and eventually became an alcoholic. As Victoria grew older, her father's drinking became progressively worse, resulting in Victoria having to learn how to look after herself, and a majority of the time, having to look after her father also.
At the age of 10, Victoria was involved in a horse riding accident where her horse threw her after being spooked by a wild horse, that same wild horse then trampled Victoria's leg. The Doctor's worked to rebuild her leg but due to the damage, the rebuilding they were able to do resulted in stinted growth
in the bone of her leg, eventually resulting in a very weakened bone which was shorter the the other leg. Victoria ended up with a permanent limp and also had slight difficulty balancing in situations where the floor under her may shift. Also as a result of being thrown from the horse, the trauma Victoria suffered to her head resulted in the lens in her eye becoming detached. Even though the Doctor were able to reattach the lens, Victoria has required glasses for reading since.
At the age of 18 Victoria saw her chance to be able to escape her father by joining starfleet. In her first year of studying general studies, she realised that the one and only area she wished to go forward in was medical. Victoria found a deep love for being able to take a sick or injured patient and working hard to make them better or to heal their injury.
After 4years at Starfleet Acedemy, Victoria graduated with high grades having shone in all of her classes. Following graduation, Victoria was awarded the rank of Ensign. She then moved on to be admitted to Starfleet Medical Academy's Residency Programme which she attended for 2years.
In 2387, Victoria graduated the Residency Programme as a fully qualified Medical Doctor, earning a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
Once graduated, she decided to enter instead into the field of counselling. Due to the Dominan war, Starfleet were assigning anyone they could to their ships and the need for counsellors was big. As a result, Victoria was assigned the position of Assistant Chief Counsellor of the USS. Triumphant.
Following a battle involved the Triumphant, the Chief Counsellor, alongside half of the senior staff, were killed. Victoria was promoted into the position of Chief Counsellor which was meant to only ever be temporary. After 2years a replacement still had not been found, as a result she continued to serve as their Chief Counsellor.
During the fall out from the battle, and the ship being rebuilt, Vikki became close to Jonathan Baker, a transporter specalist. Before the battle they had just been friends but after the battle, both lost close friends and as a result steadily became close. They both realised that life was too short to not spend it with the one they loved. The married on 01/30/2391, 3months before they were both due to the transported to Triton Seabase. Vikki had found out she was pregnant and they had both decided it would be best to raise their child on a planet instead of amongst the stars.
A month later, the USS Triumphant was involved in a battle which counted Jonathan amongst their causalities. An unlisted causality had been a child who had never even draw breath, who was called Samantha, the tiny body buried with her father in space.
The opportunity was still offered to Vikki to serve onboard the Seabase and she embraced the opportunity, needing to get away.
During her time on the seabase, herself and the Captain formed a bond which over time turned to love. Again though, it was a love not destined to last.
During a routine mission, Michael disappeared with most of the away team and was never seen again. It was reported back by the survivors that he was dead...there was no chance he could be otherwise. The exact details remained classified to even her.
Vikki found herself with no choice but to accept what had happened as within weeks she discovered that for the second time in her life she was pregnant but this time with twins.
The new CO of the seabase was Michael's brother Josh who welcomed Vikki into his family; alongside the brother's parents. It was this, and this alone that gave Vikki the courage to be able to continue with her pregnancy and eventually give birth to the twins.
Due to the stress of the years past, Vikki made a life changing decision in applying to Starfleet for leave that would extend beyond her maternity leave. She felt that she couldn't cope with raising twins on her own and also juggle a career as a counsellor...only one would have a place in her life.
During these two years, she continued to live at the Seabase and raise her children with the help of Josh and his family.
Evenutally though..she was forced to make a choice. Starfleet could only wait so long before she either had to permanently resign her position as a counsellor of the fleet or she needed to return to work.
Feeling that she had no choice, she needed a life in order to make one for the twins; Vikki returned to active duty.
Her first new deployment would be to the USS Endeavour. Due to the nature of her role, it would be inappropriate for the twins to accompany her. Josh arranged for the transfer of his parents from Earth to the Seabase so as they would be there to raise the children.
Vikki had no choice...she needed to do this for herself and for them.
With this transfer also came a move from being Chief Counsellor to just being a counsellor. In honesty, this suited Vikki to the ground. She was only getting her feet back under her after the last 3 years, she wasn't altogether sure she was ready for the responsibility that came with being a Chief.
