USS Leopard Stuff

Posted on 11 Mar 2018 @ 11:02pm by Lieutenant JG Xynys Seltriss & Lieutenant Commander Yvette Beauvoir & 1st Lieutenant Jack Patton

Mission: Crisis on the Frontier 4X01
Location: USS Leopard
Timeline: MD 1

"Do you like the center chair, Yvette?" Xynys asked from her perch at tactical. There were still several hours from their destination at Langley Station. So far the ship's crew remained content to allow the Endeavour's away team to operate the ship and remain in the dark.

"It is comfortable, but I believe I am not quite ready for my own command, Lieutenant."

Xynys bobbed her head from side to side. "It seems to suit you," She said.

Patton sat in the XOs seat and he kept shifting his weight in the chair. He was getting a little antsy as the ship was at warp. Jack was used to the life of a Marine, the constant motion. If you were not on mission you trained. The life of a member of the Fleet just sitting there did suit him, well at least it didn't at the moment. Just to give himself something to do, Jack checked in with SFMC command to see if there were new orders for The Kingsmen.

"Thank you, Lieutenant." Yvette said. "So how do you like the XO chair, Mr. Patton?" She asked.

"It is comfy... But I have to confess I do not understand how you all do this. The sitting and doing nothing for extended periods of time. I am used to if you are not on a mission then you trained. Constant moving, a stagnant Marine is a dangerous Marine." Patton replied.

"I think that's part of being on the job," Xynys hissed. "Being here is doing something, but I must also confess it's strange to be custodians for a ship that isn't ours."

"It is strange, but as you said, it is part of the job." Yvette agreed. She then turned to Patton. "Mr. Patton, If you would rather be training, you have my permission to do so." She said.

"Thanks Ma'am. But in truth I would rather stay here and see how the other side lives as it were. Perhaps that will give me a better knowledge in case the Kingsmen are ever stationed aboard a vessel." Jack replied. He looked toward Yvette "I do think that the Captain should be given a funeral with honors. Despite what happened here." he added.

"Agreed." Yvette replied. "I will put it in my report." "So, you are open to serving on a vessel, Mr. Patton?" She asked.

"I go where to Corps demands me to go." Jack replied with a smile. "However, if we are requested to be a ship based unit it would be nice to call somewhere home for a bit. I am sure my men would like the socialization that a ship officers. But I guess we will see when we get to Langley." He added.

"Lieutenant Seltriss, what are you planing to do when we reach Langley Station?" Yvette asked.

"I'm going to avoid getting involved in any cage fighting matches," She hissed, alluding to her botched attempt on Tehran Station. "And find the hottest place on the station or planet I can find and savor the heat. At least for a few hours if not a whole day. Anyone care to join me?"

"I am planing to try out a holoprogram that consist of a number of mineral pools, you are welcome to join us, Lieutenant." Yvette replied.

Xynys broke into a brimming, toothy smile and bobbed her head vigorously. "That would be great! I could really, really use some time in a hot spring. And maybe afterwards, we could challenge some Marines to a round of sparring."

"You up for some sparing, Mr. Patton?" Yvette asked.

Jack smiled broadly, "Just pick your poison..." he replied.

"Good, old-fashioned Terran boxing," Xynys hissed enthusiastically. She raised her arms and balled her hands into fists before smashing them together.

"Queens rules for Kings men..." Jack replied with a smile. "Am I to assume that Langley has some sufficient holosuites." Jack had never boxed a Gorn but he was looking forward to it suddenly.

"I have intel that Langley Station is not exactly up and running yet, we may have to use our own holodecks." Yvette replied.

The gorn shook her head. "Looks like the Endeavour's will have to do," Xynys hissed. "I'll even let you take the first swing, Patton."

"If you like, I could officiate this 'bout'." Yvette offered.

"Sounds like a deal to me," Xynys said with an enthusiastic nod of her head.

"We have an accord..." Jack said with a mischievous smile.

"Good, then it is agreed." Yvette replied.
